Product description
Epitalon (CAS# 307297-39-8) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG), developed as a research analogue of Epithalamin — a polypeptide extract isolated from the bovine pineal gland. It is studied in cell biology models examining telomerase activity, TERT (telomeric reverse transcriptase) gene expression, cell cycle regulation, and neuroendocrine signalling pathways associated with the pineal gland. As the shortest characterised peptide with documented telomere-related activity in preclinical models, Epitalon occupies a unique position in the in vitro research literature on replicative senescence and chromosomal stability. Supplied by BIOSTACKS as a lyophilized powder for in vitro laboratory research use. This compound has not been authorized by Health Canada for any therapeutic, clinical, or human use.
How to use it
Each vial arrives as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder and must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use in a research setting. Add the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial, then swirl gently until clear — never shake. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated and use within 28 days.
Open the step-by-step reconstitution guideStorage & stability
Sealed lyophilized vials are stable at ambient temperatures for 30 days and indefinitely at −20°C. After reconstitution, refrigerate at 2–8°C in the original vial and use within 28 days. Keep the vial out of direct light and avoid repeated temperature swings and agitation.
Quality & testing
Quality and purity tests are performed on random batches, covering identity (mass spec), purity (HPLC) and endotoxin results.

About Epitalon
In controlled laboratory environments, Epitalon is widely investigated for its interaction with telomerase activation pathways and telomere length regulation models. Researchers utilize this peptide to explore how cellular lifespan may be influenced by peptide-driven signaling, particularly in studies focused on aging-related decline, genomic stability, and cellular replication limits. These mechanisms are critical in understanding how biological systems maintain long-term function and structural integrity.
Circadian Rhythm and Pineal Signaling
Epitalon is also studied for its potential role in pineal gland signaling and circadian rhythm regulation. Laboratory models examine how this peptide may influence melatonin-related pathways, sleep-wake cycles, and neuroendocrine balance. These insights are particularly relevant in research focused on biological timing systems and their connection to aging and systemic recovery processes.
Supplied in a premium lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder form, the 10mg format ensures optimal biochemical stability, precise measurement, and consistent reconstitution under proper laboratory conditions. This format is highly suitable for long-term experimental protocols and dose-response studies. Accurate peptide calculations during reconstitution help maintain consistent molarity across batches, ensuring reproducibility in in-vitro research models.
What distinguishes Epitalon in modern research is its association with telomere biology and long-term cellular maintenance. Researchers investigate how this peptide interacts with genetic regulation pathways, oxidative stress response systems, and circadian signaling networks. This integrated approach provides deeper insights into how multiple biological systems contribute to aging and longevity within controlled experimental environments.
To preserve peptide integrity, strict cold-chain storage is recommended. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, vials should be stored between 2°C and 8°C. Proper storage conditions ensure stability and maintain biological activity throughout multi-phase research studies, supporting consistent and reliable data collection.
FAQ
Common questions
Each vial contains lyophilized peptide, sealed under vacuum with a butyl stopper and aluminum crimp cap. Bacteriostatic water is sold separately.
Store the sealed vial at 2–8°C in a dark environment. After reconstitution, keep refrigerated and use within 28 days.
Yes — every batch ships with a signed COA showing HPLC purity, mass spec confirmation, and endotoxin results. Download the sample COA above.
Larger vials offer the same peptide at a lower per-mg cost. Reconstitution volume scales linearly with size.
